[Lee Jae-myung, Leader Of South Korea's Largest Opposition Party, Loses His Parliamentary Qualification] Today (November 15), The Seoul Central District Court Of South Korea Issued A First-instance Verdict On Lee Jae-myung, Leader Of South Korea's Largest Opposition Party, The Democratic Party Of Korea, For "suspected Violation Of The Public Office Election Act." Lee Jae-myung Was Sentenced To One Year In Prison, Suspended For Two Years. Lee Jae-myung Attended The Sentencing That Day. According To Relevant South Korean Laws, If Lee Jae-myung Is Fined More Than 1 Million Won (about 5,170 Yuan), He Will Lose His Parliamentary Qualification And The Right To Vote, Which Means That He Cannot Become A Presidential Candidate And Participate In The Next Presidential Election. Lee Jae-myung Was Transferred For Trial For Allegedly "publishing False Facts" During A TV Interview And During The Parliamentary Inspection Of National Affairs During The 20th Presidential Election. On September 30 This Year, South Korean Prosecutors Asked The Court To Sentence Lee Jae-myung To Three Years In Prison For Allegedly Violating The Public Office Election Act, Saying That Lee Jae-myung "in Order To Cover Up His Lies, He Even Fabricated False Testimony, Infringed Upon The People's Right To Vote, Disrupted The Judicial Order, And His Crime Was Serious."
