Asian equities traded in the US as American depositary receipts were lower Wednesday morning, down 0.89% at 2,026.12 on the S&P Asia 50 ADR Index.
From North Asia, the gainers were led by computer hardware company Canaan and biotech firm Zai Lab , which climbed 16% and 9.1% respectively. They were followed by video-based social platform JOYY and mobile healthcare platform 111 , which rose 7% and 3.8% respectively.
The decliners from North Asia were led by pet-focused platform Boqii and automotive ecommerce platform TuanChe , which fell 11% and 4.4% respectively. They were followed by automotive company Honda Motor and semiconductor company Himax Technologies , which dropped 3.7% and 2% respectively.
From South Asia, the gainers were led by IT firm Sify Technologies , which rose 3.3%, followed by tech conglomerate Sea and telecommunications firm Telekomunikasi Indonesia , which were up 2.2% and 0.2% respectively.
The decliners from South Asia were led by IT firm Infosys , which lost 0.7%, followed by Dr. Reddy's Laboratories and telecommunications operator PLDT , which were off 0.5% and 0.1% respectively.
Zacks Investment Research
Tech stocks were mixed late Tuesday afternoon, with the Technology Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLK) up 0.1% and the SPDR S&P Semiconductor ETF (XSD) falling 2.1%.
The Philadelphia Semiconductor index dropped 1.1%.
In corporate news, Alight shares jumped 13% after the company posted Q3 adjusted earnings and revenue ahead of consensus.
Camtek shares popped past 6% after the company reported Q3 results ahead of estimates.
Sea shares surged nearly 11% after the company reported Q3 earnings of $0.24 per diluted share, compared with a loss of $0.26 a year earlier.
Alphabet's Waymo unit said Tuesday its self-driving robotaxi service is now open to everyone in Los Angeles. Waymo said it started commercial operations in Los Angeles earlier this year and 300,000 people joined its waitlist. Alphabet shares rose 1%.
U.S. stocks were lower, with the Dow Jones index falling more than 200 points on Tuesday.
Shares of Tyson Foods, Inc. rose sharply during Monday's session following upbeat quarterly earnings.
The company reported fourth-quarter adjusted earnings per share of 92 cents beating the street view 69 cents. Quarterly revenues of $13.565 billion (+1.6%) outpaced the analyst consensus of $13.392 billion.
Tyson shares jumped 8.5% to close at $63.79 on Monday.
