Investing.com – Belgium stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Consumer Goods, Healthcare and Technology sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 added 1.67%.
The best performers of the session on the BEL 20 were Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG), which rose 5.93% or 1.42 points to trade at 25.38 at the close. Meanwhile, D’Ieteren NV (EBR:IETB) added 4.07% or 8.00 points to end at 204.80 and Elia (EBR:ELI) was up 3.38% or 2.85 points to 87.20 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were KBC Groep NV (EBR:KBC), which fell 1.24% or 0.86 points to trade at 68.70 at the close. Azelis Corporate Services NV (EBR:AZE) declined 0.39% or 0.07 points to end at 17.99 and Syensqo SA (EBR:SYENS) was up 0.55% or 0.39 points to 70.92.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Brussels Stock Exchange by 71 to 28 and 11 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 1.25% or 33.40 to $2,708.30 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January rose 1.20% or 0.84 to hit $70.94 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract rose 0.97% or 0.72 to trade at $74.95 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.69% to 1.04, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.16% to 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.63% at 107.60.
