Investing.com – Canada stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Clean Technology, Energy and IT sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Toronto, the S&P/TSX Composite added 0.15%.
The best performers of the session on the S&P/TSX Composite were TMX Group Limited (TSX:X), which rose 8.33% or 3.77 points to trade at 49.04 at the close. Meanwhile, Celestica Inc. (TSX:CLS) added 7.34% or 12.92 points to end at 189.03 and MDA Ltd (TSX:MDA) was up 7.08% or 1.56 points to 23.60 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were BROOKFIELD ASSET MANAGEMENT LTD (TSX:BAM), which fell 3.57% or 3.03 points to trade at 81.80 at the close. Brookfield Corp (TSX:BN) declined 3.01% or 2.60 points to end at 83.79 and IAMGold Corporation (TSX:IMG) was down 2.56% or 0.24 points to 9.12.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Toronto Stock Exchange by 686 to 260 and 70 ended unchanged.

The S&P/TSX 60 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of S&P/TSX Composite options, was down 7.47% to 15.12.
Gold Futures for April delivery was up 0.56% or 15.87 to $2,872.97 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March fell 0.87% or 0.64 to hit $72.52 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract rose 0.01% or 0.01 to trade at $75.97 a barrel.
CAD/USD was unchanged 0.71% to 0.70, while CAD/EUR unchanged 0.37% to 0.67.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.96% at 107.83.
