European equities traded in the US as American depositary receipts opened the week higher late Monday morning, rising 0.41% to 1,307.69 on the S&P Europe Select ADR Index.
From continental Europe, the gainers were led by internet browser company Opera and furniture maker Natuzzi , which rose 6.1% and 2.5% respectively. They were followed by semiconductor company Sequans Communications and telecommunications operator Telefonica , which were up 3.5% and 1.7% respectively.
The decliners from continental Europe were led by biotech firm Evaxion Biotech and biopharmaceutical company Grifols , which fell 4.3% and 0.8% respectively. They were followed by pharmaceutical companies Novo Nordisk and Ascendis Pharma , which dropped 1.8% and 0.9% respectively.
From the UK and Ireland, the gainers were led by biopharmaceutical companies Akari Therapeutics and Adaptimmune Therapeutics , which advanced 5.1% each. They were followed by biopharmaceutical company Biodexa Pharmaceuticals B and oil and gas company BP , which rose 2.8% and 1.2% respectively.
