European Equities Traded in the US as American Depositary Receipts Rise in Tuesday Trading

Investing.com – U.K. stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Beverage, Life Insurance/Assurance and Industrial Transportation sectors led shares higher.

At the close in London, the Investing.com United Kingdom 100 added 0.24%.

The best performers of the session on the Investing.com United Kingdom 100 were JD Sports Fashion PLC (LON:JD), which rose 4.01% or 3.78 points to trade at 97.94 at the close. Meanwhile, Intermediate Capital Group PLC (LON:ICGIN) added 3.80% or 78.00 points to end at 2,132.00 and Antofagasta PLC (LON:ANTO) was up 3.24% or 51.50 points to 1,642.50 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were WPP PLC (LON:WPP), which fell 2.90% or 23.60 points to trade at 790.40 at the close. Rolls-Royce Holdings PLC (LON:RR) declined 2.56% or 15.00 points to end at 570.00 and Unilever PLC (LON:ULVR) was down 2.48% or 113.00 points to 4,448.00.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the London Stock Exchange by 1002 to 707 and 682 ended unchanged.

Gold Futures for February delivery was down 0.15% or 3.94 to $2,650.76 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in February rose 0.16% or 0.12 to hit $74.08 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract rose 0.20% or 0.15 to trade at $76.66 a barrel.

GBP/USD was up 0.72% to 1.25, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.02% to 0.83.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.60% at 108.15.

Investing.com – Spain stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Financial Services & Real Estate, Consumer Goods and Building & Construction sectors led shares higher.

At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 added 1.34%.

The best performers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Banco Bilbao Vizcaya Argentaria SA (BME:BBVA), which rose 4.57% or 0.43 points to trade at 9.74 at the close. Meanwhile, Banco de Sabadell SA (BME:SABE) added 4.13% or 0.08 points to end at 1.94 and Banco Santander (BME:SAN) was up 3.44% or 0.15 points to 4.55 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were SOLARIA ENERGIA Y MEDIO AMBIENTE (BME:SLRS), which fell 5.01% or 0.43 points to trade at 8.06 at the close. Corporacion Acciona Energias Renovables SA (BME:ANE) declined 1.50% or 0.29 points to end at 19.00 and Naturgy Energy Group SA (BME:NTGY) was down 1.33% or 0.32 points to 23.76.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Madrid Stock Exchange by 112 to 75 and 21 ended unchanged.

Gold Futures for February delivery was down 0.14% or 3.74 to $2,650.96 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in February rose 0.15% or 0.11 to hit $74.07 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract rose 0.22% or 0.17 to trade at $76.68 a barrel.

EUR/USD was up 0.74% to 1.04, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.02% to 0.83.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.60% at 108.14.
