Investing.com – Germany stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Technology, Software and Food & Beverages sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX rose 0.39%, while the MDAX index added 0.23%, and the TecDAX index climbed 1.18%.
The best performers of the session on the DAX were Infineon Technologies AG NA O.N. (ETR:IFXGn), which rose 10.37% or 3.24 points to trade at 34.49 at the close. Meanwhile, SAP SE (ETR:SAPG) added 1.58% or 4.15 points to end at 267.30 and Brenntag AG (ETR:BNRGn) was up 1.53% or 0.92 points to 60.92 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Sartorius AG VZO O.N. (ETR:SATG_p), which fell 2.72% or 7.40 points to trade at 264.70 at the close. Siemens Energy AG (ETR:ENR1n) declined 2.45% or 1.36 points to end at 54.12 and Merck KGaA (ETR:MRCG) was down 2.39% or 3.45 points to 141.00.
The top performers on the MDAX were Jungheinrich AG O.N.VZO (ETR:JUNG_p) which rose 3.58% to 24.90, Aixtron SE (ETR:AIXGn) which was up 3.10% to settle at 13.45 and Kion Group AG (ETR:KGX) which gained 2.01% to close at 35.60.
The worst performers were Siltronic AG (ETR:WAFGn) which was down 8.06% to 39.90 in late trade, Hypoport AG (ETR:HYQGn) which lost 2.02% to settle at 203.40 and Deutsche Wohnen AG (ETR:DWNG) which was down 1.67% to 23.55 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Infineon Technologies AG NA O.N. (ETR:IFXGn) which rose 10.37% to 34.49, Aixtron SE (ETR:AIXGn) which was up 3.10% to settle at 13.45 and Elmos Semiconductor AG (ETR:ELGG) which gained 3.07% to close at 70.50.
The worst performers were Siltronic AG (ETR:WAFGn) which was down 8.06% to 39.90 in late trade, Sartorius AG VZO O.N. (ETR:SATG_p) which lost 2.72% to settle at 264.70 and Freenet AG NA (ETR:FNTGn) which was down 1.61% to 29.30 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 310 to 297 and 26 ended unchanged.

The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was up 12.01% to 17.24 a new 1-month high.
Gold Futures for April delivery was up 0.42% or 12.14 to $2,869.24 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March fell 0.33% or 0.24 to hit $72.92 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract rose 0.53% or 0.40 to trade at $76.36 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.30% to 1.04, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.08% to 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.92% at 107.88.
