Investing.com – Germany stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Software, Technology and Industrials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX declined 1.75%, while the MDAX index declined 1.77%, and the TecDAX index declined 2.02%.
The best performers of the session on the DAX were Dr Ing hc F Porsche AG Preferred (ETR:P911_p), which rose 5.01% or 2.76 points to trade at 57.88 at the close. Meanwhile, Bayerische Motoren Werke AG (ETR:BMWG) added 2.44% or 2.04 points to end at 85.66 and Deutsche Boerse AG (ETR:DB1Gn) was up 2.29% or 5.90 points to 263.20 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Siemens Energy AG (ETR:ENR1n), which fell 9.16% or 5.10 points to trade at 50.56 at the close. MTU Aero Engines NA O.N. (ETR:MTXGn) declined 6.29% or 20.70 points to end at 308.30 and SAP SE (ETR:SAPG) was down 4.78% or 12.15 points to 242.20.
The top performers on the MDAX were Puma SE (ETR:PUMG) which rose 2.77% to 30.02, K+S AG (ETR:SDFGn) which was up 2.51% to settle at 14.10 and Redcare Pharmacy NV (ETR:RDC) which gained 1.58% to close at 122.00.
The worst performers were Thyssenkrupp AG O.N. (ETR:TKAG) which was down 5.89% to 8.57 in late trade, AUTO1 Group SE (ETR:AG1G) which lost 5.29% to settle at 21.14 and Aixtron SE (ETR:AIXGn) which was down 4.67% to 11.93 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Atoss Software AG (ETR:AOFG) which rose 2.54% to 121.00, Deutsche Telekom AG Na (ETR:DTEGn) which was up 1.26% to settle at 34.50 and United Internet AG NA (ETR:UTDI) which gained 0.32% to close at 18.96.
The worst performers were Eckert & Ziegler AG O.N. (ETR:EUZG) which was down 6.06% to 54.25 in late trade, SAP SE (ETR:SAPG) which lost 4.78% to settle at 242.20 and Aixtron SE (ETR:AIXGn) which was down 4.67% to 11.93 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 396 to 238 and 25 ended unchanged.
Shares in Deutsche Boerse AG (ETR:DB1Gn) rose to all time highs; up 2.29% or 5.90 to 263.20.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was up 2.83% to 22.81 a new 6-months high.
Gold Futures for April delivery was down 0.45% or 13.25 to $2,900.85 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in April fell 0.98% or 0.66 to hit $66.38 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract fell 1.04% or 0.73 to trade at $69.63 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.02% to 1.08, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.26% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.06% at 103.87.
