U.S. stocks were higher, with the Dow Jones index gaining around 300 points on Tuesday.
Shares of Emerson Electric Co rose sharply during Monday's session after the company reported better-than-expected fourth-quarter financial results and issued FY25 adjusted EPS guidance above estimates. Also, the company announced it increased return of capital to shareholders with plans to repurchase approximately $2B in FY25.
Net sales growth of 13% year over year to $4.62 billion, beating the consensus of $4.57 billion. Underlying sales were up 4%, and underlying orders increased by 2% in the quarter. Adjusted EPS improved 15% to $1.48, beating the consensus of $1.47.
Emerson Electric shares jumped 6.6% to $117.01 on Tuesday.

Financial stocks rose in Friday's pre-bell session with the Financial Select Sector SPDR Fund 0.4% higher recently.
The Direxion Daily Financial Bull 3X Shares was up 1.2% and its bearish counterpart Direxion Daily Financial Bear 3X Shares was 1.2% lower.
Nomura Holdings shares were up over 2% after the company reported higher fiscal Q2 net income and revenue.
William Penn Bancorporation shares advanced by over 3% after the company and Mid Penn Bancorp said they have entered into a definitive agreement for William Penn to merge with Mid Penn in an all-stock transaction valued at about $127 million, or $13.58 per William Penn share.
LyondellBasell Industries fell by over 1% after the company reported lower Q3 adjusted earnings and sales.
Financial Stocks rose in Friday's pre-bell hours with the Financial Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLF) 0.5% higher recently.
The Direxion Daily Financial Bull 3X Shares (FAS) was up 1.2% and its bearish counterpart Direxion Daily Financial Bear 3X Shares (FAZ) was 1.2% lower.
Nomura Holdings shares gained more than 2% after the company reported higher fiscal Q2 net income and net revenue.
The broad market exchange-traded fund SPDR S&P 500 ETF Trust was up 0.5%, and the actively traded Invesco QQQ Trust was 0.6% higher in Friday's premarket activity, ahead of the closely-watched monthly US jobs report.
US stock futures were also higher, with S&P 500 Index futures up 0.4%, Dow Jones Industrial Average futures advancing 0.4%, and Nasdaq futures gaining 0.5% before the start of regular trading.
October's employment situation bulletin is slated to post at 8:30 am ET followed by the S&P Global US PMI manufacturing final report for October at 9:45 am ET.
Dallas Federal Reserve President Lorie Logan speaks at 9:45 am ET.
The ISM manufacturing index final report for October and the construction spending for September bulletin are slated to be released at 10 am ET.
The weekly Baker Hughes oil-and-gas domestic rig count will be released at 1 pm ET.
In premarket action, Bitcoin was up by 0.2% and the cryptocurrency fund ProShares Bitcoin Strategy ETF was marginally up by 0.02%.

Health Care
The Health Care Select Sector SPDR Fund advanced 0.5%. The Vanguard Health Care Index Fund was up 0.1% while the iShares US Healthcare ETF was inactive. The iShares Biotechnology ETF was flat.
Pediatrix Medical stock was up 8.2% premarket after the company reported higher Q3 adjusted earnings and net revenue.

Consumer
The Consumer Staples Select Sector SPDR Fund was up 0.2%, while the Vanguard Consumer Staples Fund was inactive. The iShares US Consumer Staples ETF was inactive, and the Consumer Discretionary Select Sector SPDR Fund gained 1.5%. The VanEck Retail ETF rose by 1.3%, while the SPDR S&P Retail ETF was inactive.
Magna International shares were up nearly 4% pre-bell even after the company reported lower Q3 adjusted earnings and sales.
Financial
Financial Select Sector SPDR Fund advanced 0.3%. Direxion Daily Financial Bull 3X Shares was up 0.3%, while its bearish counterpart Direxion Daily Financial Bear 3X Shares was 0.3% lower.
Nomura shares were up 2.5% pre-bell Friday after the company reported higher fiscal Q2 net income and revenue.
Industrial
Industrial Select Sector SPDR Fund advanced 0.1% while the Vanguard Industrials Index Fund and the iShares US Industrials ETF were inactive.
Boeing Company stock was up 2.3% before the opening bell after the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers said late Thursday that the airplane maker reached a tentative agreement with union leaders representing 33,000 workers on strike for almost two months over wage disputes.
Energy
The iShares US Energy ETF was inactive, while the Energy Select Sector SPDR Fund was up by 1%.
Chevron stock was up 2.1% before Friday's opening bell after the company reported forecast-beating Q3 adjusted earnings and revenue.
Technology
Technology Select Sector SPDR Fund advanced 0.3%, and the iShares US Technology ETF was 0.6% higher, while the iShares Expanded Tech Sector ETF was inactive. Among semiconductor ETFs, SPDR S&P Semiconductor ETF was inactive, while the iShares Semiconductor ETF rose by 0.9%.
Apple shares were down 1.8% in recent Friday premarket activity after the company posted a tepid fiscal Q1 guidance late Thursday and said its fiscal Q4 net income was dragged down by an income tax charge of $10.2 billion related to a European court order in September.
Commodities
Front-month US West Texas Intermediate crude oil rose 1.9% to $70.56 per barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange. Natural gas gained 0.1% to $2.71 per 1 million British Thermal Units. United States Oil Fund was up 0.1%, while the United States Natural Gas Fund lost 0.8%.
Gold futures for December advanced 0.5% to $2,762.60 an ounce on the Comex, while silver futures gained 0.5% to $32.95 an ounce. SPDR Gold Shares increased by 0.3%, and iShares Silver Trust was 0.4% higher.
