Investing.com – Spain stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Consumer Goods, Chemical, Petroleum & Plastic and Telecoms & IT sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 gained 0.29%.
The best performers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Merlin Properties SA (BME:MRL), which rose 4.03% or 0.40 points to trade at 10.33 at the close. Meanwhile, SOLARIA ENERGIA Y MEDIO AMBIENTE (BME:SLRS) added 3.20% or 0.28 points to end at 8.88 and Cellnex Telecom SA (BME:CLNX) was up 3.17% or 1.00 points to 32.54 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Caixabank SA (BME:CABK), which fell 4.32% or 0.24 points to trade at 5.23 at the close. Banco Santander (BME:SAN) declined 3.52% or 0.16 points to end at 4.37 and Bankinter (BME:BKT) was down 2.59% or 0.20 points to 7.52.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Madrid Stock Exchange by 126 to 65 and 25 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 1.21% or 32.45 to $2,707.35 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January rose 1.17% or 0.82 to hit $70.92 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract rose 0.93% or 0.69 to trade at $74.92 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.71% to 1.04, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.14% to 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.64% at 107.62.
