Investing.com – Spain stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Financial Services & Real Estate, Telecoms & IT and Building & Construction sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 rose 0.31% to hit a new 5-year high.
The best performers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Indra A (BME:IDR), which rose 9.83% or 2.06 points to trade at 23.02 at the close. Meanwhile, ArcelorMittal SA (BME:MTS) added 4.84% or 1.33 points to end at 28.79 and Grifols SA (BME:GRLS) was up 3.58% or 0.38 points to 11.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Merlin Properties SA (BME:MRL), which fell 2.78% or 0.29 points to trade at 10.16 at the close. Redeia Corporacion SA (BME:REDE) declined 1.74% or 0.30 points to end at 16.98 and Industria de Diseno Textil SA (BME:ITX) was down 1.62% or 0.84 points to 51.16.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Madrid Stock Exchange by 124 to 73 and 17 ended unchanged.
Shares in Indra A (BME:IDR) rose to all time highs; up 9.83% or 2.06 to 23.02. Shares in ArcelorMittal SA (BME:MTS) rose to 52-week highs; up 4.84% or 1.33 to 28.79.
Gold Futures for April delivery was up 1.86% or 53.09 to $2,901.59 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in April fell 0.39% or 0.27 to hit $69.49 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract fell 0.18% or 0.13 to trade at $72.68 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 1.17% to 1.05, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.13% to 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 1.04% at 106.44.
