Investing.com – U.K. stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Aerospace & Defense, Healthcare Equipment & Services and Mining sectors led shares higher.
At the close in London, the Investing.com United Kingdom 100 rose 0.76% to hit a new all time high.
The best performers of the session on the Investing.com United Kingdom 100 were BAE Systems PLC (LON:BAES), which rose 14.58% or 205.00 points to trade at 1,611.50 at the close. Meanwhile, Rolls-Royce Holdings PLC (LON:RR) added 4.41% or 32.80 points to end at 776.80 and Rightmove PLC (LON:RMV) was up 4.20% or 28.20 points to 699.20 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Bunzl PLC (LON:BNZL), which fell 8.79% or 296.00 points to trade at 3,072.00 at the close. B&M European Value Retail SA (LON:BMEB) declined 3.60% or 10.00 points to end at 267.70 and Severn Trent PLC (LON:SVT) was down 2.72% or 68.00 points to 2,435.00.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the London Stock Exchange by 1083 to 714 and 584 ended unchanged.

Gold Futures for April delivery was up 1.86% or 53.04 to $2,901.54 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in April fell 0.43% or 0.30 to hit $69.46 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract fell 0.22% or 0.16 to trade at $72.65 a barrel.
GBP/USD was up 1.02% to 1.27, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.13% to 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 1.03% at 106.45.
